You’re Losing Out on Sales

So many Poshmark sellers rely on the app to stay in touch with their past buyers, but there are two problems with that:

  1. Buyers aren’t on Poshmark everyday
  2. It’s time-consuming to message everyone individually

Without an email list, you’re losing out on sales. Lots of sales.

I teach an unconventional way to increase Poshmark sales inside the Smarter Moms Online Community where members learn the exact process I’ve used to make $5,000 in a few months.

An email list is one of the tools to increase your sales!

There are a ton of email service providers you can choose from:

You just need one that fits your needs to communicate with those who’ve shown interest in hearing from you.

I’ve used Mailchimp, Aweber, and ConvertKit, but stuck with ConvertKit because I can offer multiple freebies and keep my subscribers on one list if I wanted to.

Do you have an email list?

12: Why Closet Clear Out Doesn’t Work

In today’s episode, we’re getting a little controversial up in here because we’re talking about Closet Clear Out on Poshmark! (And today coincidentally happens to be a Closet Clear Out day on Poshmark lol!)

Shout out to Aviva (Poshmark Closet: @avivaviva) who left a 5-star review on iTunes! Here’s what she said:

I really love this!”
I LOVE this podcast. She is so positive and inspiring and these tips are really helpful and clearly communicated. I just binged all the episodes and I only do that when I’m really hooked. 🙂

Show Highlights

  • What Closet Clear Out is
  • How Closet Clear Out differs from the Offers to Likers feature
  • The advantage of using Closet Clear Out
  • Three reasons why Closet Clear Out doesn’t work effectively

Quotes & Takeaways

  • “Shopping is a psychological activity. Sellers need to strike while the iron is hot!”
  • “When buyers get overwhelmed by their notifications, they just ignore them.”
  • “In a group survey, 73% of respondents said that Closet Clear Out does not bring them sales.”

3 Reasons Why CCO Doesn’t Work

  • Shopping is a psychological activity. If a seller waits for a Closet Clear Out day to drop their prices, they miss the hot opportunity to make a sale.
  • Buyers are overwhelmed by their notifications because CCO is a site-wide movement. Overwhelmed buyers tend to ignore their notifications.
  • Poshmark doesn’t give prior notice when Closet Clear Out days will happen, so sellers can’t fully prepare for the event.

10: Why You Actually Don’t Achieve Your Goals

This is the time of year when everyone is talking about goals… and that’s cool because tons of people like to the year with a clean slate!

I purposely didn’t publish today’s episode last week, which was January 3rd, because I didn’t wanna feed into the “goal fatigue” as I call it.

But now it’s January 10th… many people are feeling like they’ve fallen off with their goals… or they’ve stopped and feel like they’ve failed altogether.

In today’s episode, I talk about why people don’t achieve their goals… It’s not because they didn’t take action.. it’s because of something so much deeper than that…

Show Highlights:

  • Why not taking action isn’t the main reason goals aren’t met
  • The tool that helped me achieve 3 goals “without even trying”
  • What’s going on in your brain when it comes to achieving goals
My very first vision board that I created back in 2012.

Quotes & Takeaways

  • “You can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” -Zig Ziglar
  • “Our brains want to be correct all of the time because it’s protecting us from harm.”
  • “Your brain subconsciously makes what it sees on a daily basis a reality.”

09: Stop Believing These Myths About Posh Ambassadors

Happy New Year!

In today’s episode, we’re discussing all the myths you can stop believing about Posh Ambassadors!

Last week, I talked about why more followers don’t equate to more sales. And my answer was pretty short and to the point (if you wanna listen to that episode, it’s Episode #8 where I answered listener Q&As). So in today’s episode, I dive deeper into why those followers don’t really matter…

So if you’re a brand new seller on Poshmark who is trying to achieve the status of Posh Ambassador, this episode is for YOU! I’m officially giving you permission to Stop Believing These Myths About Posh Ambassadors.

You’ll feel so much better after listening to the show hahaha.

Before we get into the show, I wanna give a Closet Shoutout to Susanne who left a 5-star review titled “Audio is Simply Amazing!” She says:

Thank you for the mystery box show. I think it’s totally awesome. I am getting mine prepared. This podcast really inspired me! My closet name is alilforever! Stay phenomenal and have an amazing day everyday!”

Thank you Susanne! Yasss girl, I loved the episode with Emily and her mystery box sales! If you haven’t heard that episode, it’s episode #7. Go listen to it right after this one!

So today I’m wrapping up the last episode of 2018 with some lister Q&A. Before I dive into what those questions are, I wanna read a review from iTunes.

This review is from Monica @burgundyhanger and if that name sounds familiar, it’s because Monica was our guest in Episode 6! So I was pleasantly surprised to see her review on here and I was like, “I wanna give her another shout out!”

Monica says:

“Just finished listening to Episode 7 and I walked away with tons of ideas on how to create mystery boxes. I also learned some things about boutique items which I’m going to look into as well. Very informative and great content!”

6: Getting Your Poshmark Closet Discovered with Monica

Welcome to episode 6! One of the reasons why I started this podcast is not just because I wanted to give others a platform to share their stories, but also because I loooove talking to other entrepreneurs.

Before I get on the phone with my guests, I have them submit an intake form so that we can both better prepare ourselves for our recording session! When I read Monica’s intake form (who is our guest today), I immediately knew that she was more than someone selling stuff on Poshmark to make a few extra bucks… she’s a genuine entrepreneur who… just like so many other people… is trying to leave her 9-5 job!

So as you listen to today’s episode, you’re gonna hear a lot more than just Poshmark info… Now I have to give you a little bit of a warning that my microphone wasn’t plugged in as I was talking to her, but… you can hear Monica loud and clear!

Before we dive into today’s show, I wanna read a review from Stephanie who’s closet name is Lima8911 titled “Love it!”:

“I’m a member of your group on Poshmark and I’m so glad you came out with this podcast because it’s something to listen to when you need motivation to keep going! There some good information and so relatable.”

Thank you so much, Stephanie! That’s definitely one of the goals of the podcast which is to help keep you motivated that you CAN make extra money on the app! Listen, if you want a chance to have your closet given a shoutout on the podcast, leave a review on iTunes and be sure to include your closet name! It seriously only takes 1.8 seconds to rate the podcast, and less than 30 seconds to write a quick review!

Alrighty! Without further ado, let’s dive into today’s show!

Monica got started with Poshmark in 2006 by selling a pair of her son’s Nike shoes which sold within a week for $50! After that first sale, she knew she was onto something…

She actually sat on her closet for a few years until 2018 when she really started taking her closet seriously. Once she did that, she found success to where she’s comfortable with calling herself a part-time seller!

I laughed so much during my conversation with Monica! She’s more than a Poshmark seller… she’s an author, blogger, and Facebook group host!

  • How to grow your social media presence
  • Getting over the fear of going LIVE

05: Multiple Closets, More Followers, and Poshfest with Daniela

Meet Daniela. Full time teacher + Poshmark seller.

Daniela started selling things from her personal closet because she didn’t feel like she’d earn as much if she sold it at a consignment shop. She started actively selling in 2015 so that she could get rid of some of her belongings after moving into her new home.

It was seriously SUCH a joy to chat with Daniela and we discussed some deep topics about the new bundling feature, styling requests, Posh Fest, and so much more!

This conversation is raw and real, so you will hear real life happening in the background… it’s all good! We keep things real around here.
